What We DoReviews, analyzes, and reports on risk, quality, service, and controls to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness, mitigate risk and remediate operational and regulatory vulnerabilities within the mortgage servicing space. Conducts risk assessments to ensure compliance with federal and state regulatory requirements, industry standards, and operating procedures. Maintains and updates procedural manuals, job aides and tools. Develops standard risk assessment scopes and conducts re-scoping of established reviews to ensure validity. Performs analyses to determine the root cause of process gaps. Monitors corrective action target dates to ensure prompt remediation and control implementation to comply with regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions

* Analyzes, defines and documents detailed process workflows through user interviews, facilitated workshops and subject matter expert engagement.

* Develops a clear understanding of the core accountabilities within the process. Ensures the focus of activity is concentrated on the highest priority needs of the business.

* Plans the research for and development of specialized risk assessment scopes.

* Collaborates with management and personnel to optimize risk assessment and scope development.

* Identifies potential business risks, operational and regulatory process deficiencies, and improvement opportunities.

* Presents conclusions and offers risk mitigation, remediation, and implements process improvement solutions to management.

* Implements recommendations and process improvements for additional controls and corrective action to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and risk mitigation processes.

* Prepares and presents to management and/or affected business unit(s) on summaries, operational and regulatory risk assessment reports, trends, and remedial or mitigation solutions.

* Delivers fact-based findings and recommendations. Escalates issues identified during review and analysis to stakeholders.

* Establishes a network of subject matter experts that provide the detail and context for existing processes, and/or stakeholders that may influence others to help support or drive improvements and to mitigate risks.

* Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and established policies and procedures

* Troubleshoots a wide variety of complex problems and identifies solutions within broad application of functional expertise

* Errors will have significant business and financial impact

Supervision Received or Extended

* No formal responsibility for the supervision of others but may provide functional advice or training to less experienced team members

Works independently under broad supervision

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a Mortgage Loan Servicing environment
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a risk or compliance based environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, preferred
  • MSP experience preferred
  • Effective writing a verbal communication skills

The pay range for this role is $75,375.00 - $100,475.00

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
