SALARY RANGE: $52,000 to $55,000

Position Summary:
The College of Public Health at Temple University is seeking a research and kitchen coordinator that will support nutrition research and education efforts at the Center for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) and the Community Teaching Kitchen. At CORE, the coordinator will support research as a health coach and data collector for a behavioral intervention to improve dietary intake. At the Community Kitchen, the coordinator will be responsible for supporting the nutrition programs and operations of the kitchen space. This position requires a background check and that clearances for working with minors be completed prior to hire. This position is a hybrid work setting, requiring in-person and remote work.
Required Education and Experience:
*Bachelor's degree in public health or other social or behavioral sciences
*At least 3 years' experience in a healthcare or research setting that includes interaction with patients and/or families.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated experience with nutrition-related research and/or nutrition education programs
*Demonstrated knowledge of nutrition, public health, behavioral health and/or related fields
*Proficient with MS Office software including database programs and virtual communication platforms (e.g., Zoom or Microsoft Teams)
*Demonstrated ability to manage qualitative and quantitative data (e.g., data entry, data management)
*Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
*Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse populations, including children, caregivers, and providers
*Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
*Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
*Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adhere to timelines
*Clearances for working with minors must be received by the start date
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
*Experience interacting with and/or delivering nutrition education to teens, families, and/or patient populations
*Master's degree in public health or relevant social scientific field (i.e., psychology, nutrition)
*Demonstrated ability to conduct dietary intake interviews via dietary assessment tool (e.g., ASA-24, NDSR, MyPlate)
*Demonstrated ability to conduct literature searches and synthesize information effectively
Essential duties:
*This position will allocate 50% of their time to research activities at CORE and 50% of their time to activities in the Community Kitchen
*At CORE, the coordinator will be responsible for a variety of research activities, including delivering health coaching for parents and teens as part of a behavioral intervention to improve dietary intake
*Additional research-related tasks will include screening of research participants, and assistance with data collection
*As the kitchen coordinator, responsibilities will include oversight of daily operations including use of the space, cleaning, and assisting with food deliveries
*Additionally, the coordinator will support the programmatic use of the space including classes and events, as needed
*The research and kitchen coordinator will report directly to the PI/Community Kitchen Director and support other activities as needed *Effective communication with the PI, university staff, other researchers, and students is also required
*In both roles, the coordinator may help develop and format project deliverables such as progress reports, presentations, and papers for publication.
*This position may include evening and weekend hours.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
