Description The Maintenance Technician III plays a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems to ensure reliable operation of plant equipment. This hands-on role works collaboratively with other team members to safely perform maintenance activities that support long-term equipment efficiency and uptime. This full-time position reports to the Senior Maintenance Supervisor and is based at Liberty Paper's manufacturing facility in Becker, MN. This position will work weekend days or nights, following a 4/10 schedule with four consecutive shifts. Saturday and Sunday are fixed workdays each week. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform maintenance work activities safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot, repair, replace, align, and maintain industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and circuits.
- Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic systems, control devices, hydraulic equipment, and components.
- Use pipefitting skills to cut, fit, weld and install piping throughout the facility.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance routes, inspect equipment condition, and report any issues.
- Perform planned maintenance as scheduled.
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance during routine and extended outages.
- Log and report issues and provide feedback for long-term machine use/efficiency.
- Maintains accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventative maintenance findings.
- Provide input on critical spares based on overall risk.
- Assist in the development and implementation of reliability/precision centered maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with operators while troubleshooting equipment.
- Apply problem solving methods to identify root causes and eliminate failures.
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and drawings.
- Actively pursue technical skill development by attending training, onsite or offsite, and through on the job experiences working with other skills and experienced staff and contractors.
- May perform work on a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Observes and enforces all company personnel, quality, and safety policies.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively & cooperatively with coworkers, contractors, leadership teams, etc.
- Conducts work in a safe manner, in compliance with OSHA, company policies and procedures. Recognizes and acts on incidents and safety risks. Consistently practices and enforces safe work habits and drives those habits throughout the organization.
- Actively participates in facility committees, events and/or meetings (i.e., Community Involvement Team, Environmental and Safety committee, etc.).
- All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- 5+ Years of applicable experience in a related role or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- Formal Technical/Trade School training desired (or willingness to pursue education/skills).
- Proven ability to lead and manage maintenance projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion while effectively coordinating team efforts and resources.

- Proficient in using a cutting torch, arc welder, and performing fabrication work.
- Highly organized with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-driven with excellent follow-through; able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to anticipate issues, develop backup plans, and respond quickly to resolve challenges.
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts effectively to changing business needs.

- Capable of interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specification documents, and communicating effectively with technical specialists.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The starting pay rate for this position is $36.00 per hour. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
