POSITION PURPOSE:

Supports subcontract activity of increasing risk and complexity commensurate with demonstrated ability and experience. Executes low- to mid-dollar, routine subcontracts and places orders against existing subcontracts. Includes defined, repetitive functions. Typically handles routine or standard form subcontract agreements and related documentation in accordance with established subcontract policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Analyzes subcontract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies and business unit procedure.
  • Drafts and negotiates simple sub-contractual instruments commensurate with skills and grade level.
  • Communicates subcontract policy and practice to internal business teams.
  • Ensures subcontract review, approval and execution in accordance with corporate and/or business unit guidelines.
  • Prepares and administers routine correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and subcontract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal.
  • Prepares, organizes and maintains subcontract records and files documenting subcontract performance and compliance.
  • May conduct research to support subcontract audit and or facilitate business unit subcontracting trends.
  • Performs subcontract closeout activities.
  • Assists mid- to high-level subcontract professionals in working with internal or external business teams on issues and developments relative to assigned subcontracts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:


  • Associates degree and 18+ hours relevant coursework/equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years of direct experience

Skills and Abilities:


  • Working knowledge of subcontracting concepts (types, terms & requirements), Federal Acquisition Regulations and the Uniform Commercial Code.
  • Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Increasing knowledge of law, negotiations, accounting or cost engineering gained through education or experience.

Special Requirements:


  • Ability to obtain a clearance if needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in business related field

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position is primarily sedentary in nature but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. The work may involve exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. This role requires the ability to work extensively utilizing a computer screen and keyboard.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Works mainly in typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
