Under the supervision of the EAD, responsible for the administration of academic personnel matters within the college, across departments and campus units and in cooperation with campus Academic Personnel administration. Provide analytical support to the college administration and departmental leadership pertaining to all academic personnel matters for Academic Senate/Federation members in the college. Analyze large quantities of information, provide policy interpretation and recommend solutions in resolving sensitive personnel issues.

- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Experience with academic personnel processes and the ability to recommend solutions and make informed decisions.
- Knowledge of academic HR policies, procedures, and legal implications, including systemwide and union contracts.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills to address complex academic personnel issues.
- Ability to anticipate the impact of actions with attention to detail and effective decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal skills to manage sensitive situations, including maintaining confidentiality, collaborate in diverse teams, and engage with various stakeholders, which may include training, mentoring and presenting information in large and small group settings to a variety of audiences.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects, meet competing deadlines, and deliver clear, concise communications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with and knowledge of collective bargaining units, both academic and staff related.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- An understanding and appreciation for organizational and interpersonal dynamics with the skills to perceive conflict in business settings and the skill to develop strategies to avoid it.
- Knowledge of and skills to understand and interpret university policies and procedures. Skills to maintain confidentiality.

Department Overview
CA&ES is a large and complex unit engaged in teaching, research, outreach, extension and service. CA&ES academic and staff personnel management is dynamic, complex and multi-faceted. The college is composed of 15 departments and numerous centers, institutes, and affiliated units located on the Davis campus and at off-site locations. The college has approximately 550 academic senate/federation appointees (project scientists, specialists in CE, specialists, academic coordinators/administrators, adjunct professors, etc.), 30 MSP and 1500 staff in career, contract, limited term and casual positions. This position is responsible for approximately 1/3 of AP college personnel activities.
