Description
Position Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining company policies and programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- Apply EHS principles and tools to reduce risks and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis and reporting, and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and participate in EHS teams and committees, taking on leadership responsibilities during meetings.
- Perform routine workplace inspections across multiple facilities and document the results.
- Lead awareness activities and provide education to prevent accidents and illnesses.
- Collaborate with EHS team members and production managers to implement best practices and safety standards.
- Develop and conduct technical training, both virtually and in-person.
- Test the workplace for environmental hazards like chemical exposure, dust, and excessive noise.
- Contribute to the development and execution of an EHS management system.
- Lead EHS projects, programs, and initiatives as a subject matter expert.
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental health, Safety Sciences, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Minimum of 3-6 years of relevant EHS experience
- Experience with environmental permitting and working with local authorities to get state ID
- Experience doing in-person safety training
- Experience working alone and ability to proactively make connections
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations
- Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies
- Certification in areas such as DOT, HAZWOPER, or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with ergonomics, ISO 14001 and 45001, and emergency management is a plus.
- Demonstrated project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong leadership skills to drive EHS compliance and progress.
- Well-organized with the ability to track and follow up on multiple projects.
- A strong focus on teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (Occasional)
- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)
