EMC Test Engineer

Position Summary:

Perform EMC tests per the requirements detailed in national and international regulatory standards and test procedures in a laboratory environment.

Full-time exempt position for TUV SUD Product Service Division.

This position is an onsite position based in San Diego, CA

Responsibilities:

Perform EMC testing per the requirements detailed in National and international regulatory standards and test procedures in a laboratory environment.

Prepare and review test reports and provide constructive feedback to other personnel to increase the overall quality of the final product.

Maintain knowledge of proper operational procedures of all relevant test equipment.

Good knowledge of laboratory test and measurement equipment including but not limited to; EMI test receivers, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, ESD, EFT, surge, radiated, and conducted immunity.

Provide support to customers regarding the application of standards, test procedures, and certification requirements.

The anticipated annual base pay range for this full-time position is $70,000-$120,000. Actual base pay will be determined based on various factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target, subject to eligibility and other requirements. Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in an Engineering discipline or at least 3 years of relevant testing experience

Regulatory testing experience for the FCC, ISED Canada, and the EU (ETSI); Other international markets is a plus

Prior experience in an electronics laboratory environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of wireless / RF communication systems and protocols for existing and emerging technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GNSS is a plus.

Demonstrate knowledge in the use of relevant test equipment and automation software.
