Summary
The Application Solutions Innovation Specialist is an entry-level role responsible for assisting in the design, development, and deployment of automation solutions that improve efficiency, streamline business processes, and enhance productivity across City departments. This position supports the Application Solutions team by working with low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Nintex Workflow Cloud, and Nintex Apps. Under the guidance of senior staff, the specialist collaborates with departments to understand business needs and helps implement user-friendly digital tools and workflows that align with City goals. Solutions are designed with data reporting in mind from the beginning, supporting key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and analytics through tools such as Power BI. Pay Range: $62,550.80 - 81,249.22 (Depending on qualifications and experience) Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Assist in the development and implementation of automation solutions using low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Nintex Workflow Cloud, and Nintex Apps. Support solution design by participating in requirements-gathering sessions with City departments and documenting business processes, user needs, and desired reporting outcomes. Build, test, and deploy forms, workflows, and simple applications under the guidance of senior developers and team leads. Contribute to solutions that are designed with data architecture in mind - ensuring processes not only work efficiently but generate structured data to support analytics and reporting goals. Assist in integrating data from various systems and applications using connectors and APIs, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reportability. Participate in the implementation and support of AI tools and capabilities to enhance business processes and user experiences. Support the development of dashboards, KPIs, and metrics by providing well-structured data from automated solutions; collaborate with Power BI developers to help visualize process outcomes. Contribute to solution governance efforts by adhering to design standards, maintaining documentation, and following established development and security guidelines. Provide peer support and serve as a mentor to interns, temporary employees, or new team members on basic tools and processes. Create and maintain user documentation, training materials, and reference guides to support solution adoption and long-term success. Respond to support requests, troubleshoot technical issues, and assist in the resolution of problems related to low-code/no-code solutions. Stay current on platform updates, AI advancements, and industry best practices; proactively share knowledge with the team.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Basic experience with at least one low-code/no-code platform (e.g., Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Nintex Workflow Cloud, or Nintex Apps). Understanding of how data flows through business processes and a willingness to learn how automation and reporting intersect. Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and follow structured development methodologies.
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 1-2 years of experience developing or supporting applications using low-code/no-code platforms. Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI and the principles of designing solutions that support effective data visualization and reporting. Experience gathering requirements for dashboards, KPIs, or reporting tools. Exposure to data integration using APIs, connectors, or Microsoft Dataverse. Familiarity with AI tools and how they can be used to improve business processes.
