DESCRIPTION:

Cx Senior Field Agent works with the design and construction team to ensure that equipment and systems are installed properly and functioning at the optimal efficiency level and at client and operational expectations. In addition, this position serves as a project manager for assigned projects and is responsible for training and mentoring Cx Field Agents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Reviews equipment submittals and shop drawings for overall compliance with the design intent, owner's requirements, and functional testing requirements
  • Schedules, coordinates, and conducts opposed season testing and warranty reviews to ensure that the systems are functioning in accordance with the design intent of the contract documents
  • Performs site visits to execute inspections using pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, and the training matrix for a given project
  • Reviews and verifies that the training matrix developed by the general contractor meets the specifications developed by the project team
  • Prepares accurate and timely progress reports to communicate commissioning progress and issues with project team
  • Serves as the main point of communication between the contractor and the project team
  • Verifies preventative maintenance material and record documents for commissioned equipment and systems
  • Maintains equipment logs and master deficiency lists for Cx projects
  • Schedules work, communicates schedule information to the project team, and monitors manpower requirements
  • Manages the project during the construction phases; coordinates activities of the project team and construction administration personnel
  • Supervises job close out process: documentation, filing, record drawings, construction cost database input, follow-up marketing, and team debriefing
  • Participates in client meetings to review project status
  • Participates in regular Cx team meetings to plan for and evaluate the progress of Cx activities
  • Performs retro commissioning and diagnostic work as needed
  • Assists with the training and mentoring of Cx Field Agents


KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE



  • Thorough knowledge of discipline specific engineering theories and methodologies
  • Thorough knowledge of building automation and controls
  • Thorough knowledge of design documents
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of system installation and functionality requirements

    • Team-Building Skills - ability to enhance social relations, define roles, and align goals within a team


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



    • 10 years of experience with MEP systems, automation, and controls OR
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with five years of applicable experience

    • Frequently use a computer for several hours at a time
    • May need to periodically maneuver over, under, and around barriers as well as climb ladders on a job site
    • May need to periodically transport ladders, equipment, and plans weighing up to 30 pounds
    • Requires the ability to climb stairs, walk around, and stand at a job site for several hours at a time
    • Frequently travel by car and plane in order to visit job sites and attend meetings, conferences, and events
