POSITION PURPOSE:
The Site Superintendent will serve on various USACE and USAF task orders/projects under several IDIQ contracts at Nellis/Creech AFB. Superintendent is responsible for the overall construction activities at the site, including quality and production. This individual will be responsible for directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating the work and activities of the various on-site trades, including subcontractors, to meet requirements and specifications as described in the statement of work or contracts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures the project maintains the required schedule by organizing, planning, monitoring, and inspecting work.
- Prepares schedules or assist scheduler for pay estimates and 3-week look ahead.
- Prepares takeoffs or assists project manager with all required materials and ensure that materials and equipment are delivered to the site on time.
- Assists project manager in defining subcontract scopes of work and ensuring subcontractors are on the project when required and progress in accordance with the schedule.
- Ensures the activities of various workers do not interfere with one another.
- Inspects the work of each trade and confirms that the quality is up to standard and the work is being built in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Plans and runs weekly progress meetings and assists in the performance of Quality Control preparatory meetings and inspections.
- Reads and interprets plans and specifications.
- Assists with project estimates, bid packages, schedule preparation, and budgets.
- Has stop work authority for potential quality and/or S&H issues
- Approves corrective measures taken and dictates when to resume work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- High school Diploma and a minimum of eight (8) years of recent experience as a Superintendent or a lead role on a project with progressive responsibilities on construction renovation projects with multiple trades.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate work requirements with various staff and subcontractors.
- Must be a self-starter, well organized, and able to work independently with minimal direction.
- Able to communicate both written and verbally in English.
- Able to be flexible and adapt to constant change.
- Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations.
- Able to understand and implement applicable local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to meet the standards required to obtain and hold general clearance for access to military installations.
- Valid Driver's License compliant with REAL ID ACT.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Must be local to Las Vegas, NV or be willing to relocate.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of computer systems such as Adobe Pro (PDF), Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word is desired.
- Knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1.
- OSHA 30 certificate or ability to obtain at the time of hire.
- CPR - First Aid certification.
- USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) certificate or ability to obtain at the time of hire.
- Experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability is desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work involves sitting, walking or standing for brief periods of time. The work may involve exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The position requires working at the construction job site for extended periods of time. The position may require working during weekends and extended hours in order to meet deadlines.
