Position Overview The Supplier Management Specialist performs journey level supplier management work. Responsible for validating supplier information and creating and maintaining supplier database for Procurement. Aptitude for creating reliable lines of communication with Department personnel to ensure all supplier information is accurately reflected in our ERP system so that Supplier payments can be paid accurately and in line with State and University policies and guidelines. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related business field of study or four years of experience in Accounts Payable or related field or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Thorough knowledge of or ability to quickly learn applicable laws, codes, regulations, standards, methods and practices related to Supplier Management * Ability to provide high quality customer service and maintain those standards * Strong problem solving and analytical skills * Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Tools; Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word and industry standard AP software programs * Actively seeks opportunities for continuous learning and to stay up to date on industry trends Preferred Qualifications Comprehensive understanding of PeopleSoft or large ERP experience Higher Education or State of Texas experience. One year experience with Jaggaer and/or PaymentWorks systems. One year of experience of previous Supplier Management experience. Required License/Registration/Certifications Job Duties: % - Assist with Supplier Management Help Desk by answering calls and email inquiries - (Essential) % - Seek opportunities for self-development, volunteer for tasks, contribute feedback openly and honestly, seek training opportunities - (Essential) % - Provide creative, innovative and collaborative ideas to management and coworkers while ensuring we are constantly being strategic - (Essential) % - Intentionally foster and build ongoing relationships with team members to ensure growth and healthy work environment - (Essential) % - Ownership of new supplier onboarding of vendors doing business with UNTS by verifying all necessary documentation is in compliance with state laws. - (Essential) % - Corresponds with suppliers regarding information required for setting up and maintaining supplier records in ERP system - (Essential) % - Analyzes, verifies and audits supplier information to ensure compliance with established policies and regulations - (Essential) % - Plans, organizes and monitors supplier database and assists with process improvement initiatives - (Essential) % - Assist vendors and internal customers (Procurement university departments) in resolution of supplier record inquiries or issues - (Essential) % - Delivers customer service to internal and external customers that supports the values and mission of UNT System shared services - (Essential) % - Communicate effectively and fully all situations that may affect a department's ability to provide high-quality customer service. - (Essential) % - Assists with some Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) outreach events in the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Denton area - (Essential) Physical Requirements: Communicating with others to exchange information.
