JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Player Development is responsible for providing support and mentorship to athletes, and helping them to navigate the any challenges they may face, to include personal development, and career planning. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the holistic development of athletes, both on and off the field, with the aim of maximizing their potential and contributing to the success of the team or organization.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops and oversees programs aimed at improving the skills and performance of players; this involves coordinating with coaches, trainers, and other staff to design and implement training regimens tailored to individual players' needs Collaborates with coaches and scouts to identify talented players for recruitment or draft, and assesses the potential of existing players within the organization; this involves analyzing performance data, scouting reports, and conducting interviews with players and coaches Implements educational programs to help players develop life skills, such as financial management, media training, and personal wellness; this aspect of the role supports athletes in their personal and professional growth beyond their athletic careers Builds and maintains relationships with players, coaches, agents, and other stakeholders within the organization and the broader sports community; this includes fostering a positive team culture and ensuring effective communication channels Ensures that all player development activities comply with league regulations, including rules related to recruitment, eligibility, and athlete welfare; this involves staying updated on league policies and working closely with legal and compliance team Utilizes data analytics and performance tracking tools to assess player development progress, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions regarding training and development strategies Engages with the local community and organizing outreach programs to promote the team or organization and foster connections with fans and supporters; this also involves organizing charitable initiatives and community service projects involving players Stays updated on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in player development, sports science, and related fields; this involves attending conferences, workshops, and networking events to expand knowledge and skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in sports management, education, psychology, or a closely related field Three years of working experience in player development, coaching, or a closely related role
