Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. Instructor, Phlebotomy Please Note: In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support visa applications. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check. This is a full-time assignment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two years of experience in phlebotomy, or nursing home /or long term care facility; demonstrated competency to teach adult learners as documented by at least one of the following: completion of a professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners or New York State Education Department teacher certification; two years of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the State Education Department or other recognized accrediting body (OR) two years of experience teaching phlebotomy certification. Experience working with diverse populations; also, demonstrated knowledge of internet navigation, email and work processing skills. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Phlebotomy Instructor reports to the Associate Coordinator of Instructional Services and performs the following duties: * Instructs adults to prepare for NHA CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certification exam. * Coordinates and supervises student's clinical experience at a designated hospital. * Prepares all necessary reports and attends all necessary meetings. * Meets with the Associate Coordinator of Instructional Services when necessary. * Performs other related duties as described in the Faculty Handbook and Agreement.
