Job Summary

Serves as a career advisor for the College of Arts, Sciences & Education by providing professional development workshops, supporting CASE goals as it relates to career and job readiness for students and conducting outreach presentations to educate students about the wide range of career opportunities

  • Serves as a career advisor for the College of Arts, Sciences & Education, which includes the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Earth and the Environment, Education, English, Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Studies, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Recreation & Sport Management, Statistics, and Women & Gender Studies to connect students with internship and career opportunities related to their interests and/or academic program.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with Chairs and Faculty in our various academic units in order to understand the needs of their academic programs and students as it relates to career/internship opportunities.
  • In collaboration with the centralized Career and Talent Development office, creates partnerships and build relationships with businesses, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and other industries to introduce employment connections for CASE students.
  • Develops materials and conduct outreach presentations to educate students about the wide range of career opportunities associated with their program, as well as employability skills, job search techniques, networking, and other related topics.
  • Provides professional development workshops for advisors to keep them informed of career trends and opportunities.
  • Serves as a liaison between the College and the Office of Career and Talent Development to provide CASE students with information on events and career resources.
  • Provides students with information and resources regarding graduate programs.
  • Supports Dean's/College's goals as it relates to career and job readiness for students.
  • Develops a plan to track students post-graduation.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of related experience; OR Master's degree.

Desired Qualifications

Degree in an appropriate area of specialization and experience working in human resources and/or career development.
