Summary/Objective: Responsible for producing, designing, crafting, setting up, framing and maintaining quality and safety standards; maintaining equipment and supplies. Woodworkers, craftsmen, and assemblers manufacture a variety of products such as cabinets and furniture, using wood, veneers, and laminates using specialized hand tools. They often combine and incorporate different materials into wood. Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Performs any combination of following duties to facilitate cutting, finishing, storing, cleaning, and shipping wood products, and inspects products prior to shipment: Stacks lumber or wood products on floor or in bins to supply machine operators or assemblers,
- Workers may use automated machinery, such as computerized numerical control (CNC) machines, to do much of the work
- Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
- Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions (not required by all operators).
- Set-up, operate and tend, mills, lathes, drill presses, shapers, routers, sanders and wood nailing machines by using proper instructions & procedures.
- Perform work in high production environment
- The ability to add fasteners, adhesives and connect the pieces to form a complete unit.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Applies filler, putty, or other material, using brush, putty knife, and fingers to fill wood pores, holes, cracks, or other indentations.
- Traces patterns on lumber stock as guide for machine operator.
- Brushes surfaces with glue preparatory to covering surfaces with leather, paper, or other materials.
- Examines materials and products for defects, finish, and grade, and accuracy of dimension and matching panels, using measuring instruments.
- Maintains workstation in a neat, clean and orderly fashion, and performs job duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Ensure wood isn't warped cracked, or swollen; completing all stages of the woodworking process.

- Primarily working indoors, shop environment.
- May stand for several hours at a time.
- Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities upon hiring. Physical Demands: The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to manually lift and stack products that ranges from 5 pounds to 75 pounds. Must be capable of sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, or walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to work additional hours and up to seven days a week, as needed. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work could also become necessary. Travel: No travel is required for this position. Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Woodworking or construction experience
