A Taste of What You'll Do

Are you passionate about controls and technology, ready to take on new challenges and make a significant impact? At our innovative and inclusive company, we are seeking a dedicated Control Tech 2 to join our team in Lodi at Turner Road Vintners with Gallo. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting all plant instrumentation and control systems. Your expertise in programming and troubleshooting plant controls processes, coupled with your ability to recommend improvements, will be crucial in enhancing our operations.

As a Control Tech 2, you will support the maintenance of plant equipment to ensure minimal downtime, investigate opportunities to improve performance, and execute minor projects, including PLC and HMI code changes. Your daily tasks will involve working cross-functionally to support operations and maintenance, utilizing PLCs and electric test equipment, and executing equipment and component upgrades. You will also be responsible for identifying, repairing, and calibrating instrumentation, troubleshooting communication networks, and participating in the development of innovative ideas and concepts.

Your role will include making technology improvement recommendations, gathering and analyzing technical and cost data, and presenting test results for potential application. You will play a key part in cross-functional teams, contributing to the building or improvement of capital assets and the commercialization of new products. With a focus on achieving project goals, objectives, and timelines, you will identify and solve technical issues, implement improvements, and communicate project status effectively.

Our ideal candidate has Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience, demonstrating bold thinking, taking appropriate risks, learning from mistakes, and driving candid discussions. What You'll Need

  • Bachelor of Science Degree plus 1 year of working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment experience; OR 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 3 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
  • Required to climb stairs and ladders; required to conduct work at heights.
  • Knowledgeable of Electrical Safety procedures.
  • May be required to work a rotating shift/schedule (e.g., day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10) as well as weekends and overtime.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. How You'll Stand Out

  • Bachelor of Science Degree plus 3 years of working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment experience; OR 2 years technical degree in electrical technology plus 5 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of experience working with PLC controls, logic circuits, pneumatic and electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of motion control and servo drive technology (software and hardware).
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting FactoryTalkDirectory (local) and RSLinx Professional.
  • Experience working with RSNetworx, able to configure industrial networks (ControlNet, DeviceNet, and EtherNet),
  • Knowledge of motor control and automated control circuits.
  • One or more years of demonstrated experience in one of the following areas:
    • CPG Manufacturing Systems (Filling, Labeling, Packaging, etc.)
    • Winery Manufacturing Systems (Fermentation, Piping, Filtration, etc.)
    • Utility Systems (Power & Distribution, Steam, Water, Waste, etc.)
    • Data Systems (SQL, Trending, Reporting, Visualization)
    • Control Systems (Rockwell, SCADA, PLC, Instrumentation)
    • Project Management
    • Agricultural Equipment and Infrastructure Systems (irrigation, site grading, drainage, etc.)
    • AGV/ATL/Swiss log systems
    • Glass Manufacturing Systems
