Inside the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic executive to lead our Credit and Risk functions across North America. The Chief Risk Officer will be responsible for overseeing the full credit lifecycle, including underwriting, portfolio management, and collections/work out, for our small business, fleet, and dealer financing segments. This role is critical in ensuring the financial health and risk management, of our business.

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTFS

  • Lead and manage credit teams across North America, including underwriting, credit policy, and risk assessment for all customer segments.
  • Oversee credit processes and systems to ensure efficiency, compliance, and scalability.
  • Develop and implement credit strategies aligned with corporate goals and market dynamics.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of the credit portfolio, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation and regulatory compliance.
  • Represent DTFS in internal and external forums, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and strategic partners.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across multiple locations and functions.
  • CRO is member of the DTFS Nort America Executive Committee and reports directly into the Global DTFS Chief Risk Officer
  • CRO functions as Chairman of the DTFS North America Credit Committee with significant credit approval authority

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial services, preferably in automotive or commercial lending.
  • Proven expertise in credit risk management, operations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional and geographically diverse teams while driving organizational change.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Position Details

  • This will be a local offer / local contract role. No expat support for this position.
  • Location: The location of this position will be in the Ballantyne area in South Charlotte.
