All about the role:

The Plant Manager position leads the continued proliferation of Electrolux mission of Shape Living for the Better leading the Manufacturing plant towards our Manufacturing Excellence roadmap while ensuring the Electrolux Employer of Choice program is fully implemented with the proper skilled and trained employees that are assigned to all manufacturing positions, leading the Safety, Environmental and Healthy initiatives to assure both the safety of our employees and compliance to regulatory elements applied to our facilities, assuring the quality plan is executed at all levels of the manufacturing. In addition, the Plant Manager is responsible for executing the Manufacturing Engineering activities including labor mapping, line balancing, automation execution, assuring NPI introductions on the line and productivity/efficiencies projects and ultimately assuring continuous cost optimization. Finally, this position is responsible for leading the supply chain activities for the plant including responsibilities for the production plan, the material plan, and inbound logistics.

What you'll do:

  • Ensure plant world-class manufacturing activities based on EMS (Electrolux Manufacturing System) and global manufacturing principles and guidelines, while ensuring Quality and Safety are met on every process.

  • Employee safety as measured by total case incident rate (TCIR).

  • Customer quality as measured by service call rate (SCR) and first-time quality (FTQ).

  • Customer delivery is measured by delivery on time (DOT) and back orders.

  • Directs the company's manufacturing, production and operating activities, with discipline, toward the accomplishment of group objectives. Drive the execution of manufacturing initiatives by:

  • Providing Lean manufacturing training, guidance and leadership to the internal manufacturing, product development teams and suppliers.

  • Understanding and responding to the requirements of Electrolux's customers and suppliers.

  • Integrating suppliers into the total manufacturing strategy.

  • Lead implementation of new process and equipment in accordance with Manufacturing Engineering guidelines with a special focus in process automation.

  • Ensure timely and effective new products launches up to a complete production ramp-up, according to the plans agreed with Product Development and Product Line.

  • Partner with Product Care to ensure the timely and successful manufacturing launch of product design modification.

  • Partner with Group ME Product Line to ensure the timely and successful manufacturing launch of all new products.

  • Drive continuous productivity improvement across the operation through the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives and partnering with all functions to generate cost savings across the value chain (R&D, Purchasing, ME, Product Care).

  • Grow the production volume of existing products to satisfy increasing demand without significant capital expenditure while new products are launched and produced.

  • Ensure maximization of overall productivity level and cost competitiveness.

  • Ensure timely and effective industrialization of new products up to a complete production ramp-up, according to the plans agreed with Product Development and Product Lines.

  • Drive Value Creation into every function of the organization

  • Develop operating budgets, capital plans, cost reduction initiatives and monitor Manufacturing, as well as taking appropriate actions in order to exceed stated objectives.

  • Develop site strategy and drive cascading tactical goals and objectives at all levels of the plant operation.

  • Inventory management of raw/indirect materials, ensuring inventory days and accuracy according to company policies, while guaranteeing supply to assembly lines as planned.

  • Ensure appropriate logistics systems are in place in the plant and with external interfaces in order to achieve the service level requested.

  • Provide direct leadership, supervision, and coaching to Springfield operations leadership team and plant employees, creating a work environment that drives engagement and stresses accountability, while behaving and reinforcing the Electrolux Purpose and Behaviors.

  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with community organizations.

  • Network with governmental and non-governmental organizations, institutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field, MBA highly desirable.

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing within complex, high-volume environments.

  • Minimum of 3 years Profit planning and operational P&L leadership experience at a plant.

  • Proven success implementing Lean manufacturing concepts and Six Sigma processes.

  • In-depth understanding of the Supply Chain and its different processes (MRP, Inventories control, Production planning).

  • In-depth understanding of standard costing and development of variable and fixed overhead rates.
