POSITION SUMMARY:

In this role, you will utilize your extensive experience to lead assembly operations, ensure adherence to quality standards, and provide mentorship to junior assemblers. Your ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex assembly challenges will be crucial to maintaining our production timelines and ensuring customer satisfaction. The work schedule for this position is Monday - Thursday 3:00pm - 1:30 am.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Execute the assembly of bus components according to detailed specifications, utilizing various tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot assembly-related issues proactively, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Conduct quality inspections of your work and assist in the quality validation process in the assembly area.
  • Keep work areas organized and safe, ensuring that equipment and tools are maintained properly.
  • Mentor junior assembly staff, sharing knowledge and promoting skill development within the team.
  • Provide feedback to management on production workflows and suggest improvements for assembly processes and tooling.
  • Interpret technical documents such as blueprints, work instructions, and engineering change notices (ECNs) to inform the assembly process.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a quality focus.
  • Work autonomously and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and project execution.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in assembly or manufacturing roles, preferably within the transportation or automotive sector
  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical concepts, with hands-on skills using tools and machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and work instructions accurately
  • Strong communication and teamwork capabilities, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative environment
  • Experience in mentoring or training personnel is an asset
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in the assembly process
  • Basic computational skills for tracking assembly reports and documentation
