We are seeking a skilled and proactive Linux Systems Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and maintaining systems running Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). This role is critical to ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our Linux-based environments. Key Responsibilities * Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu and RHEL). * Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability. * Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly; maintain administrative tools and utilities. * Manage system backups and disaster recovery operations. * Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. * Maintain system security through access controls, firewalls, and regular audits. * Automate routine tasks using shell scripts or configuration management tools. * Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to support application deployment and infrastructure needs. Required Skills * Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) * Ubuntu * Linux system administration * Shell scripting (e.g., Bash) * System monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) * Networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) * Windows Server (basic familiarity) Qualifications * U.S. citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements. * Must have an active Secret Security Clearance at the start of employment. * Typically requires a university degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field. In lieu of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is acceptable. * 3+ years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
