Job Title: Construction Supervisor
Location :Baytown, TX
Description:
Major tasks and responsibilities of position
Remain knowledgeable of safety policies and procedures and perform assigned duties in a safe manner and play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed by complying with established safety policies and procedures.
Responsible for ensuring external contractors, subcontractors and construction management staff comply with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and guidelines.
* Responsible for monitoring, managing, and controlling the field progress, schedule adherence, cost compliance, and quality activities of all field executed work by contractors to meet the Project Management requirements and Client's Standards & Guidelines.
* Maintain quality of all work in accordance with the standards as specified in the design documents by monitoring the performance and overall progress of construction inspections in adherence to the field quality assurance program.
* Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action.
* Provide input for the development of project schedules in cooperation with the construction engineers and planners.
* Prepare Daily Construction Reports (DCR's) and coordinate weekly update meetings with Contractors.
* Control change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work.
Qualifications
* A High School Diploma with equivalent of 12 years of construction experience or
an Associate degree with a minimum of 8 years of construction experience or a BS (University) degree in Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 2 years" experience or a MS BS (University) degree in Engineering or Construction Management with a minimum of 1 years experience managing or supervising technical, engineering, construction teams in execution of investment projects.
* Possess a full understanding of CAPEX business principles and procedures with experience in construction engineering, construction cost estimating and construction management.
* Project Execution experience in different Contract Models and Subcontracts.
* General business knowledge encompassing basics in all areas of finance, contract negotiations, personnel, etc.
Other Requirements
* Must have experience working in a fast pace environment with contractors.
* This position will require daily time in the field for hours per day.
* Knowledge of scheduling adherence and quality assurance
* Must understand Non-conformance reports process for compliance needs.
