Leveraging both in-domain and cross-domain expertise to maximize our clients' success, SLA Division acts as trusted agents to senior decision-makers and key leaders and excels at providing data driven analytic insights, systems engineering, strategies, and plans that address current and emerging challenges to national security.

The AUKUS, Submarines, and Industrial Base Group (ASIG), within the Sea, Land, Air Division, provides timely, objective, analytic assessments that integrate technical, operational, programmatic, policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities, which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navy's top acquisition priority), the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine), to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPA's decades of support to the SSBN force, as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction, assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future, and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile, major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition. #MC



Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years professional experience
  • Proficiency in Navy and/or Joint planning and mission engineering processes
  • Ability to communicate task and project status to supervisors and the Government client at the O-5/6/GS-14/15 level effectively including creating verbal and written communication products
  • Robotic autonomous systems experience preferred
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and analytical skills and the willingness to learn and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated strength in analysis and problem solving, paired with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Current DoD TOP SECRET clearance with the ability to maintain it throughout employment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with US Navy submarine operations, certification, and maintenance
  • Experience supporting a NAVSEA acquisition program office. Experience/knowledge of Navy acquisition program office organizations and processes
  • Experience with Team Submarine
  • Experience working with international partners
  • Experience in a DoD/client-facing environment
  • Experience in planning or mission engineering within domains such as submarine or anti-submarine warfare, undersea surveillance, naval special warfare, or related commercial sectors


Responsibilities

The Subsea and Seabed Warfare (SSW) Plans and Operations Analyst will provide support to the NAVSEA AUKUS program to support planning and coordination efforts aligned with AUKUS objectives and the Undersea Hybrid Fleet Executive Steering Group. This role involves managing stakeholder input, aligning planning activities with established SSW concepts, and drafting materials and mission engineering products in accordance with the NWP 5-01 Navy Planning Process and DoD Mission Engineering guidance. The selected candidate will produce and track planning deliverables including COAs, briefs, mission analysis, directives (e.g., WARNORDs, FRAGORDs), and post-event documentation to support informed leadership decision-making. In addition, this role supports the planning and facilitation of meetings and events, ensuring proper scheduling, resource allocation, clearance coordination, documentation, and transmission of classified information. The position also maintains current awareness of emerging SSW technologies, acquisition frameworks, strategic guidance, and evolving operational concepts to inform planning recommendations and stakeholder education efforts. This is a key role in bridging operational execution with long-term strategic undersea warfare objectives.

This position is located at Norfolk, VA.

There will be some opportunity to travel to partner and industry stakeholder locations.

There is an opportunity for possible light telework.
