The Opportunity:

Ever-expanding technology like IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence means that there's more structured and unstructured data available today than ever before. As a Data Analyst focused on Advanced Business Intelligence Development, you know that organizing big data can yield pivotal insights when it's gathered from disparate sources. We need an experienced data analyst to help our clients find answers in their data to impact important missions. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you'll implement data modeling and visualization activities on mission-driven projects. You'll deploy and develop workflows and visualizations that organize and make disparate data meaningful.

Booz Allen is seeking an experienced Data Analyst to support the client's analytics office. As the Data Analyst with specialty in Business Intelligence Development, you will support the client by developing technical solutions and ensuring personnel have the capability to access, ingest, and process data at the speed of mission relevance. You will accelerate the velocity of data for consumption, ensuring data and insights are available, secure, and accessible to the client. You will build and maintain workflows, data pipelines, and visualizations primarily within Microsoft enclaves, and within the ADVANA, Jupiter, BOLT, and AWS cloud environment as required. You will perform data cleaning, modeling and help promote a culture of leveraging data as a strategic asset. You'll provide your customer with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it. Join us as we use data science for good in the defense industry.

How You'll Contribute:
As a data analyst on our team, you'll:

  • Use your data analytics expertise to support client and stakeholder relationships.

  • Research, develop, and test data methodologies, and generate cross-functional solutions through collection, interpretations, evaluation and analysis of large data sets.

  • Contribute to impactful work and guide decision-making across multiple organizations.

  • Apply skills and data analytics expertise by simplifying technical requirements and trends, based on audience.

  • Present data findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders using your knowledge of databases, scripting languages, such as SQL, Python, and R, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics and key performance indicators to drive technical outcomes.

  • Apply data visualization through different formats.

  • Grow your communication and technical skills by creating data-centric solutions across the Department of the Navy and Department of Defense.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with Power BI development or with data modeling, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX), Power Query, and data visualization

  • Experience creating and managing complex data models in Power BI, including relationships, hierarchies, and calculations using DAX

  • Experience in Power Query for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from multiple data sources, and using M language for custom data transformations

  • Experience in creating interactive and visually compelling dashboards, reports, and custom visualizations

  • Experience with Power BI service for publishing, sharing, and collaboration

  • Knowledge of DAX functions, calculations, and optimization techniques for performance, including time intelligence, filter context, row context, and complex expressions

  • Knowledge of best practices for design, layout, and user experience

  • Knowledge of workspaces, apps, datasets, usage metrics, data warehousing principles, star schemas, and fact and dimension tables

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience using DoD Microsoft Platform

  • Experience working with the DoD or Marine Corps and collaborating directly with internal and external clients

  • Experience utilizing Power Automate and Power Apps for automating business processes and creating user interfaces

  • Experience with Databricks, Qlik, and Tableau within the ADVANA, Jupiter, BOLT, and AWS cloud environment

  • Experience with SQL for data extraction, query writing, and performance tuning

  • Experience in Python, including data manipulation libraries, such as Pandas, and NumPy, and data analysis techniques

  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders to understand business requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot data issues, performance problems, and reporting bugs

  • Possession of strong analytical thinking skills

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
