Your future role "Take on a new challenge and apply your extensive transportation and leadership expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside dedicated and collaborative teammates. You'll drive the seamless coordination and performance of SunRail's train operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and exceptional service delivery. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (Operations Subcontractor, host railways, and rail traffic control centers), provide leadership to Supervisors on train operations, and oversee training programs for Locomotive Engineers and Conductors, and much more." We'll look to you for:
Assessing all train performance reports and interfacing regularly with host railways' rail traffic control centers and railway operating officers to ensure coordination and daily performance of train operations. ,
Immediately responding to and correcting deviations from the operating plan. ,
Ensuring a training/refresher program is in place to maintain a high level of competence for Locomotive Engineers and Conductors. ,
Providing leadership and direction to subordinate Supervisors on all train operations. ,
Performing operational audits on train service and operating crews. ,
Ensuring that all crew-related incidents are properly reported, investigated, and addressed to prevent recurrence, with full reporting to the General Manager. ,
Arranging daily and weekly meetings, electronic and telephone communications, and site visits. ,
Establishing a protocol for 24-hour, 7-days-a-week emergency contact. ,
Managing compliance with Title 49 CFR rules and regulations for the passenger rail industry.

Experience or understanding of railway operations, including roles such as Conductor and Locomotive Engineer. ,

Familiarity with Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards. ,
Strong communication and leadership skills. ,
Advanced experience with MS Office Suite. ,
Ability to learn and adapt to new software applications. ,
Experience in managing complex administrative departments and assets. ,
Proven ability to coordinate and lead teams in high-pressure environments.
