ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mechanical design and engineering analysis (structural, thermal) of probe card components and assemblies.
- Development of probe card architectures for new tester platforms.
- Solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks CAD software.
- FEA analysis using both SolidWorks Simulation and ANSYS software.
- Generation of fully detailed part drawings, implementing ANSI Y14.5M GD&T standards.
- Generation and maintenance of the design and solid model library.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and resolution of mechanically related issues in the factory and verification of new probe card configurations.
- Recommend and execute mechanical-related corrective actions.
- Provide support to machining vendors and fabricators.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience. (Minimum 3 years).
- Innovative and able to introduce new ideas to meet customer design solutions.
- Capable of producing cost-effective design solutions that meet DFM/DFA design principles.
- Attention to detail and willingness to assume responsibility for designs and projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate as a team member as required.
- Strong skill set in mechanical design using Autocad and Solid works 3D CAD software.
- Experience with Excel and other programs effectively manipulating data and presenting results.
- Comfortable using finite element analysis to solve mechanical problems.
- Proficient in most common PC based applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PPT, MSProject, and the like).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Combination of office and manufacturing settings.
The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $90,500 and $118,755. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
