About the Job

We are seeking a graduate research assistant (25% time) to support our studies examining the risk factors for cancer and outcomes in cancer survivors in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. The graduate assistant will report to Dr. Anna Prizment.

The assistantship is for Fall semester (August 25-Jaunary 7, 2025) but is renewable with potential effort increase in Spring. Preference will be given to applicants with MPH in Epidemiology.

Job Responsibilities:
Literature review, data analysis, writing scientific papers
* Comprehensive review of the literature on a research topic
* Conducting basic quantitative data analysis (e.g., descriptive statistics, correlations, linear, logistic, and Cox regression) using SAS/R software such as R
* Maintaining documentation of datasets and analyses
* Writing up results for academic publications / presentations
* Preparing tables and figures
* Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
* Must be a registered PhD student in Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota, and must maintain the minimum number of required credits
* Excellent knowledge of a statistical software
* Good skills in writing scientific papers
* Good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with faculty, staff, and students
* Experience conducting managing data files and conducting basic data analysis
* Prior roles that required attention to detail

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $27.93 - 30.29; depending on education/qualifications/experience
