Summary:

The Director of Employment Services and Placement plays a key role in connecting WRTP | BIG STEP program participants and graduates to high-road careers in construction, manufacturing, and emerging industries. This position leads the development of employer partnerships, manages the employment placement process, and supports career-readiness services to ensure successful and

sustained employment outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain employer relationships to generate living-wage job opportunities through direct placements, hiring events, and networking.
  • Deliver individualized career coaching and employment readiness programming, including resume support, interview preparation, and soft skills development.
  • Coordinate job matching, assess participant skill levels, and maintain a participant matrix for efficient placement.
  • Monitor local and regional job boards and manage job opportunity listings.
  • Conduct post-placement follow-ups to support employment retention, collect feedback, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Track and report participant outcomes and employer engagement data to meet grant compliance and performance goals.
  • Support internal teams in continuous improvement of the employment services model.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, education, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in recruitment, staffing, or workforce development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with diverse populations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Ability to multitask, manage projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexible schedule; may include occasional evenings or weekends.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.


Work Environment:

Position requires moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 25 lbs. Must be comfortable using standard office equipment and traveling for meetings and events.
