Duties and Responsibilities |
The primary role of this position is that of the public face at the College of Arts and Sciences Dean's Office front counter, and in particular, this person is responsible for four sets of tasks:
- Provides front counter service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors: answers phones, provides general information, and assits with scheduling advising appointments with College advisors. Direct the flow of traffic of any of our 7,800 CAS students to our student advising team (comprised of 8 advisors) and our student academic affairs team;
- Field and direct the arrivals of any of our 400+ full-time and 200+ part-time faculty to our academic, financial and faculty affairs Associate Deans, and answer phone and in-person questions from alumni, donors, and parents of students;
- Assists with various projects and event activities, including but not limited to the Sujack Awards Ceremony and the University Commencement ceremonies;
- Manages web content for the College of Arts and Sciences' main web pages and keeps content updated and current; updating of student records into database system; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience in an office setting. |
Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or two years related experience and/or training is preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A comprehensive understanding of higher education is preferred.
- Must possess strong, demonstrated interpersonal, intercultural and customer service skills with a friendly and patient demeanor
- Ability to multitask and take initiative to assist when needed.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.

Computer Skills |
Ability to use MS Office, email, and other office automation systems. Experience with
LOCUS or other online database systems preferred. A minimum of intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with web content management software preferred. |
