NATURE AND SCOPE
The Director, Data Analytics will play a transformative role within the organization, building and leading a modern analytics practice from the ground up. This leader will be responsible for hiring, developing, and mentoring a high-performing analytics team and will serve as the chief evangelist for data-driven decision-making across the credit union. As a champion of analytics innovation, the Director will establish and mature data governance capabilities and ensure the delivery of AI-ready data assets that will strategically position the credit union for the future. The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguity, is highly self-driven, and is passionate about the potential of data to create value. This position will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer.


REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's preferred with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a closely related function. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role, including building and developing analytics or data science teams.
3. Experience implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and data quality initiatives.
4. Demonstrated proficiency with analytics, data visualization, and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAS, Python, R).
5. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data architectures.
6. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to drive initiatives forward independently.
7. Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and effectively evangelize analytics throughout the organization.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
9. Strong business acumen with a passion for data and its transformative power in the financial services sector.
10. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures and comply with all job-related State and Federal laws and regulations.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing analytics team dedicated to delivering actionable insights and value for the credit union.
2. Develop and execute the credit union's analytics strategy, aligning with overall business objectives and technology roadmaps.
3. Evangelize the adoption of data-driven decision-making by partnering with leaders and functional teams across the organization.
4. Establish, implement, and mature a robust data governance capability to ensure data quality, consistency, privacy, and compliance.
5. Oversee the development and maintenance of AI-ready data assets, analytics tools, dashboards, and reports.
6. Drive innovation by researching, recommending, and implementing new and emerging data analytics technologies and industry best practices.
7. Monitor and communicate the impact and value of analytics initiatives on business outcomes and member experience.
8. Manage analytics project risks and issues, escalating and resolving as appropriate.
9. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, fostering transparency and collaboration within the analytics team and across the organization.
10. Collaborate with other IT and business teams (e.g., IT, risk, compliance, operations) to ensure seamless data integration and alignment.
11. Provide clear and timely communication on analytics project statuses, progress, and changes to stakeholders.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.
