The expected hiring range for this position is:

$18.14-$21.64.

About the Role:

In a supportive, team-oriented environment, our Day Care Teacher is responsible for the daily care and supervision of an assigned group of children.

What your day-to-day as a Day Care Teacher at Fermilab will look like:

  • You will establish the care necessary for each child's needs consistent with their age andstage of development; develops and executes programs/activities designed toencourage the social, physical, and intellectual development of children in the groupwhich may require individual tailoring to various cultural differences.
  • You will assess each child's development and recognizes problems of a cultural and/ordevelopmental nature which may be exhibited by certain children; devises positiveapproaches to overcoming problems.
  • Monitoring and ensuring that an appropriate and equal level of physical attention and careis given to each child in a manner consistent with their needs, age and stage ofdevelopment and that all activities are conducted in an equitable manner.
  • Ensuring the group of children is exposed to emergency and evacuation proceduresthrough periodic drills and games.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive rapport with students' parents and co-teachers andparticipates in parent conferences when necessary.
  • You will be responsible for the arrangement, appearance, decor, cleanliness and learningenvironment of the classroom.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Abiding by and being responsible for performing all duties in accordance with allenvironmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

  • Associate's degree in early childhoodeducation or related discipline with 12 complete semester hours in early childhood educationand/or child development.
  • 2+ years of experience teaching in an early care/educationclassroom.
  • Must maintain at least 25 annual hours of continuing education in the childcare field,with a focus in early education

Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Training and/or certification in child abuse and neglect, safe sleep, first aid, bloodbornepathogens, and CPR.

Work Arrangement:

  • Onsite: This is an onsite role, and the candidate must be able to work from our Batavia office.
