Staff Engineer II - QA Automation Engineer

What you'll do:

This role seeks a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer with demonstrated expertise in both test automation and performance testing. The primary focus will be on utilizing advanced methodologies to design, develop, and execute automated and performance test scripts, while providing support to application teams across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in test case design, automation development, and performance testing practices. In collaboration with key product stakeholders, you will advocate for and uphold enterprise QA standards and processes, drive quality initiatives, and facilitate comprehensive end-to-end automation.
  • Design, development and maintain a robust enterprise test automation framework using Playwright for financial services applications.
  • Provide support performance testing activities for the enterprise.
  • Champion a culture of test automation across the enterprise, ensuring the seamless implementation and integration of automated testing within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Evaluate and implement tools and technologies that enhance automation, observability and test reliability.
  • Support the automation of backlogged testing requirements for application delivery teams, ensuring timely and efficient integration into the overall testing framework.
  • Identify, document and track defects and issues leveraging tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Ensure all testing activities comply with processes, standards, and controls.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for testing processes and standards.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and overall effectiveness of quality assurance processes.

What you'll need:

  • 7+ years of QA/Development or related experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in test automation and performance testing tools like Playwright, Selenium, Jmeter, LoadRunner.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT related field required.
  • Strong programming skills.
  • Familiar with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Azure Devops, Git, etc).
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Familiar with API testing tools (Postman, Ready API, etc).
  • Strong leadership, speaking, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory, legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices, and general knowledge of Financial Services or Banking is preferred.
  • Advanced ability to see the big picture and align projects with organizational goals. Capable of leading and motivating cross-functional teams. Expertise in resolving conflicts and addressing challenges as well as skilled at identifying and mitigating risks at the project level. Proficient in governance patterns tied to intake, technical reviews and architectural compliance.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
