Plans, organizes, and controls the planning and engineering support for operating divisions within a geographic area or market.

Essential Functions

  • Selects, trains, develops and motivates a staff of 8-13 employees and manage an annual operating budget ranging from $800,000 to $1.3 million.
  • Prioritizes market and operations planning efforts.
  • Reviews analyses for market operations, facility requirements, system form/product movement alternatives, and vehicle/GSE asset requirements and makes recommendations.
  • Facilitates communication between various operational groups (ramp, station and hub operations) and ensure that the local market planning group provides value-added support in achieving operational business plans.
  • Manages the interface between on-road planning and engineering efforts and the local market staff groups.
  • Directs the planning, administration and engineering functions of market ramp, station and hub engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years related business experience in an engineering discipline, operations research or industrial management field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of FedEx operations. Strong basic management skills. Human relations skills. Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Job Conditions

Some travel required.
