About the Role

We are looking for a Manufacturing Equipment Support Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will drive mechanical equipment design projects aligned with business needs and sustain new and existing process equipment. You will support operations through trouble shooting and implementation of solutions as a project leader and core team member.

This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $85,000 - $176,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Design new manufacturing equipment and upgrades to existing equipment to meet processing requirements
  • Understand product fitness for use to ensure equipment is capable of reliably meeting all customer specifications and requirements
  • Lead and support complex equipment design projects from design/specification phase through qualification phase
  • Sustain new and existing manufacturing equipment to ensure reliability and product quality are maintained
  • Manage external suppliers to procure equipment, parts and service
  • Leverage Gore tools and project practices when leading and supporting projects
  • Collaborate with skilled trades to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment to original or improved performance
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree
  • Minimum 3 years professional work experience in a manufacturing environment as an Engineer
  • Proven history of documenting and communicating work effectively
  • Working knowledge of general machining and manufacturing practices, materials selection, system design and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Demonstrated ability to use 3D and 2D design software to create documentation for the manufacturing of equipment and equipment modifications (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent design software)
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, support and prioritize multiple projects around daily tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a cross functional team, and influence decisions to align with business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical ideas and concepts to technical and non-technical groups (written and verbal)
  • Ability to travel up to 10% based on project needs

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with thermoplastic extrusion or PTFE processing and processing equipment
  • Knowledge of regulated manufacturing and clean room environments

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore's work arrangement policies.
