The Quality Control Inspection Supervisor manages the daily work activities of the In-Process Inspection (IPI) department and the Receiving Inspection (RI) department. This individual is responsible for the short term planning for personnel needs and locations to match the inspection needs for material for product flowing through the production floor and receiving inspection area. Supervisory Responsibilities: * Regularly review and communicate department performance in attaining goals, measuring performance, and delivering on established corporate metrics. * Develop and maintain a skilled workforce through timely coaching and feedback, cross-training, and employee development. * Maintain a sound organizational development plan by establishing policies to drive retention, attract top talent and ensure adequate development of future leaders through succession planning and training initiatives. * Develop, implement and execute on strategic plans and financial goals across the operational landscape to meet deliverables and drive continuous improvement. Position Responsibilities: * Responsible for maintaining appropriate staffing levels and participating in the hiring and training of inspectors. * Handles all daily routine personnel issues of in-process and receiving inspection. * Provides feedback and formal performance and coaching reviews with IPI and RI personnel. * Manages the workflow and sets daily priorities for the IPI and RI departments. * Leads daily department meetings and coordinates any workflow concerns with other supervisors and managers as needed to ensure product remains on schedule. * Interfaces with multiple departments and attends meetings as needed to ensure appropriate quality assurance support and planning. * Participates in the building of and maintaining of a strong and cohesive inspection department with cross training between the receiving inspection and in-process inspection teams. * Promotes and leads continuous improvement in the Inspection Department. * Maintains RI equipment for calibration, preventative maintenance, and repair. * Manages internal calibration of Sechan assets in which RI serves at the metrology laboratory. * Performs other duties as assigned to drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of this organization. Skills & Abilities: * Ability to read and comprehend control plans (read and understand basic technical drawings) * Possesses attention to detail and problem solving skills * Strong computer skills. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to lead small teams * Basic drawing interpretation abilities * ERP knowledge (i.e.: inventory, purchase requirements). * Demonstrates an ability to assess employee performance and suggest training and improvement activities. Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Quality Assurance * Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance. * IPC Certifications (e.g. IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001) a plus but not required. * DOD experience a plus but not necessarily required. * Experience with Military and International Quality System rules, regulations, standards, including planning and implementation a plus * Management experience required. * Ability to pass vision acuity exam per J-STD-001 and NASA standards * Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. Work Environment: * Production Environment: Requires physical capability to work in a production environment up to 9 hours a day including; sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities including; close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * Hours: 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Thursday; Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with additional hours as needed to meet demand. Occasional off-shift hours may also be required to provide support to operations. * 9/80 work schedule. |
