Description

Provide accounting, finance and analytical support in the verification, control and processing of work activities in respective area. Assist in development and implementation of accounting procedures and systems to assure proper and effective financial reporting and compliance; and provide research and accounting assistance to others. Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual and periodic financial statements, analyses, reports and data requests for management, internal departments and external entities. Complete the day-to-day activities, calculations, reconciliations and analyses necessary to perform periodic financial accounting closes. Assist in the coordination, preparation and administration of the annual capital and O&M budgets, the Operating Plan and the five-year Financial Forecast. Recommend enhancements to accounting policies, procedures and information systems. Assist with compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and to the FERC Chart of Accounts. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others.

This role is responsible for assisting and/or preparation, filing and payment of property tax returns and payments.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Financial Analyst I: ($55,500 - $69,380)



  • Must possess a working knowledge of accounting fundamentals and principles at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in accounting, finance or related field.


Financial Analyst II: ($62,130 - $77,660)



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; and
  • Two years' related accounting/finance experience.


Financial Analyst III: ($71,460 - $89,330)



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; and
  • Four years' related accounting/finance experience, with a minimum of two years' experience in financial analysis.


    OTHER REQUIREMENTS


    • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
    • May be required to maintain a valid driver's license.
    • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


    • CPA or professional certification desired.
    • JD Edwards, CCB, and utility accounting experience.
    • Property and/or income tax experience.


    JOB RESPONSIBILTIES


    • Prepares stand-alone, consolidated and combined monthly internal statements and financial reports and responds to data requests from internal and external entities, ensuring that final product includes concise and accurate explanations of variances and changes and appropriate supporting documents.
    • Designs, completes and maintains spreadsheets and databases necessary for assigned duties. Assists in the maintenance, enhancement and implementation of accounting and financial application software.
    • Prepares and analyzes tax depreciation schedules; calculates deferred incomes taxes for fixed assets.
    • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
