About the Role:
As a member of this functional engineering team, the Mechanical Design Engineer will perform Concept Modeling, Engineering and Design support for the development and delivery of design of driver controls, battery integration, seating, and lighting for ground combat vehicles. Additionally, the role may require design support of adjacent modules including (but not limited to) stowage, mounting, and guards.

Responsibilities to Anticipate/Expect:
- Operating within cross-functional teams supporting program deliverables related to technical requirements, cost and schedule.
- Developing detail hardware concepts using CAD modeling tools and ensuring developed concepts meet all technical requirements.
- Collaborating with engineering peers within the project team to ensure developed concepts support a balanced system level approach that achieves the necessary performance requirements.
- Collaborating with drafting personnel in maturing design concepts to a production-ready state.
- Oversee the release of hardware models and prints.
- Provide support to the manufacturing organization in the fabrication and integration of developed hardware onto prototype and/or production platforms.
- Provide support, as required, for testing and verification of developed hardware.
- Provide support for Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis to resolve identified technical issues with prototype and/or production hardware.
- Provides counsel and recommendations based on interpreting and normalizing identifiable data/inputs from diverse sources and performing complex analysis.
- Lead other design engineers on assigned projects/tasks.
Minimum Qualifications / What You Must Have:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, or related field, from an ABET accredited program.
- 7-10 years of engineering experience in the defense, aerospace, or automotive industry. Military land vehicle experience is preferred.
- Prior experience with Teamcenter.
- Experience creating and releasing electro-mechanical components, assembly models, and detailed drawings using NX or Creo.
- Experience creating drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 standards.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
- Basic Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and self-start.
- Mind-set to work collaboratively in a team environment for program success.
Additional Information:
- This position requires eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance).
- The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to work overtime when required.
- Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
- Limited travel may be required.
