Job Title: Engineering AssociateReporting To: Engineer Staff, ProjectWork Schedule: Onsite - Phoenix, AZMOOG Space and Defense Group is a proven provider of high performance and reliable space-rated avionics hardware and software. Products include control and data handling, power distribution, payload interface cards, mass memory, GPS receivers, motor and actuation drivers and controllers, and onboard computing. MOOG has partnered with NASA to provide electronic solutions for the Artemis Orion Crew Capsule, Viper Lunar Rover, Satellite Laser Communications Relay, OSIRIS-REX to study asteroid composition along with complete satellite buses for the defense department. MOOG Space and Defense Group is seeking an Associate Engineer. Minimum qualifications to be considered:
Board layout professional responsible for High-Speed Digital and Power design. Looking for experience in Cadence and/or Pantheon, with a good understanding of circuit board construction, issues, coupon requirements, and layout techniques. Applicants will be required to have good communication skills and lead a small group of board layout professionals. Interaction with the greater MOOG engineering on Cadence Library issues and development is also needed. Looking for expertise in board stack-ups, and experience in solving issues with board vendors. Analog Design and Power Engineer with a strong understanding of servicing digital electronics. The space industry is changing relatively fast in the development of new products. A working knowledge of newer devices on the market available for space, as well as a solid understanding of the fundamentals of power converter basics is a bonus. Any programming experience with micro controllers would also be helpful as new product lines are moving toward micro controllers. Applicants should have a basic knowledge of board design fundamentals, like board stack-ups, trace widths, current carrying capacity, and gap requirements. Responsibilities include detailed design specification, documentation of process, worst case analysis, derating analysis, evaluation of radiation effects on components, manufacturing readiness, initial board build oversight, and board initial testing and bring up. If any issues arise with boards in the future, you will also need to help solve issues and troubleshoot issues as required. Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques is also a valued skill for this job. Salary Range Transparency: Phoenix, AZ $70,000.00-$95,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
