LOCATION: Remote - This is a home based, virtual position that operates Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm EST. Vaya Health welcomes applications from NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, MD, and FL.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Infrastructure Administrator II will be responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems/networking/security hardware and software for the organization. Position will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization; ensures that systems hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational policies. Position will work closely with business partners and vendors. This position will report to the Infrastructure Operations Manager.

Note: This position requires access to and use of confidential healthcare information or protected health information (PHI) as described in laws addressing patient confidentiality, including, but not limited to, the federal HIPAA law, the Confidentiality of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Patient Records law, 42 CFR Part 2, and various state laws. As such, the individual filling this position shall be required to be trained regarding such laws and shall be required to observe those laws in his/her capacity as an employee of Vaya Health. The individual filling this position shall also sign a confidentiality statement as an employee of Vaya Health.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Customer Service:

  • Provide support for company-wide infrastructure systems, and services. Including but not limited to Exchange, AD, fileserver/storage, VOIP servers/applications, LANs, WANs, and security.
  • Ensure documentation is always up to date and champion change management.
  • Troubleshoot and provide resolution for escalated Service Desk tickets within the appropriate Service Level Agreement.
  • Coordinate & execute after-hours maintenance activities.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation
  • All other tasks as assigned by Infrastructure Operations Manager or other MIS leadership.

Operational Processes:

  • Systems:
    • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
    • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
    • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
    • Provide formal corporate communications on directional changes or changes that will impact existing services
    • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
    • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
    • Create and manage accounts in Active Directory and Office 365
    • Setup and administer Microsoft Exchange environment
    • Manage environment using TCP/IP v4 and v6 protocol, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP
    • Write custom scripts to reduce the need for human intervention
    • Install public and local certificates on various systems
  • Azure:
    • Deploy virtual machines in a highly available setting
    • Create virtual networks with high levels of performance and security to handle workloads
    • Monitor network performance to adhere to service-level agreements
  • Networking:
    • Configure, tests, and maintains LAN/WAN equipment and related services
    • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves network problems
  • Perform other duties or projects, as assigned by the Infrastructure Operations Manager or other ISD Leadership.

Projects:

  • Effectively manage time and priorities.
  • Build and set up computer networks by physically installing, connecting, and configuring equipment.
  • Deliver projects on schedule and communicate issues with teammates and MIS leadership proactively.
  • Provide recommendations and designs, coordinate planning across multiple teams, and execute well-planned improvements.

KNOWLEDGE OF JOB

  • Ability to install, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and software is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and Active Directory technologies including domain administration, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, Certificate Authority administration, etc.
  • Knowledge of the file and printing services, Remote Desktop Services, WSUS, IIS, and other Windows server roles.
  • Proficiency in shared storage administration and performance tuning (SAN/NAS/DAS environments).
  • Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware 6.5+ and Hyper-V), clustering, high availability, fault tolerance, DRS, load balancing.
  • Apply critical thinking to quickly identify problems and implement solutions with minimal downtime.
  • Utilize software and hardware diagnostic tools to identify, diagnose, and repair complex problems affecting system availability and performance.
  • Using logic and wholistic analysis identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches. Be able to qualify decisions with solid reasoning and justification.
  • Ability to multitask and perform a multitude of administrative and engineering tasks at one time unsupervised. Effectively collaborate in a team environment or work independently as needed.
  • Maintain awareness of advances in information technology and developments in cyber security realms.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong work ethic is required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience providing technical support for Microsoft Server environment, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Azure
  • Experience understanding and troubleshooting basic networking concepts
  • Microsoft certification(s) or related experience in the field

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparation and analysis of documents; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.
  • Physical activity in this position includes crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of hands, wrists and fingers.
  • Sedentary work with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Mental concentration is required in all aspects of work.

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: The person in this position must live in NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, MD, or FL.


SALARY: Depending on qualifications & experience of candidate. This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
