Overview

We are seeking skilled and motivated Field and Shop Service Technicians to join our team in Gillette, Wyoming. The technicians will perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on over-the-road trucks, with a focus on MTU, Allison, and Detroit Diesel equipment, as well as other heavy machinery. This role requires self-starters who can work independently in the field or collaboratively in our shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain over-the-road trucks and heavy equipment, with a focus on MTU, Allison, and Detroit Diesel systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Document service activities, including parts used, time spent, and detailed repair notes.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to provide updates on equipment status and service needs.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working in the field or shop.
• Manage inventory of tools, parts, and supplies to ensure readiness for service calls or shop repairs.
• Travel to various field locations around Gillette, Wyoming, for field technicians, as required.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a service technician or similar role working on heavy-duty trucks or equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, particularly with MTU, Allison, and Detroit Diesel systems.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (for field technicians).
• Ability to work independently (field) or collaboratively (shop) with minimal supervision.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions (field) and respond to emergency service calls as needed.

Preferred:

• Experience working on MTU, Allison Transmissions, and/or Detroit Diesel equipment.
• Certification in relevant equipment repair or maintenance (e.g., ASE, manufacturer-specific training).
• Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems specific to over-the-road trucks.

Work Environment

• This position includes both field-based and shop-based roles, with field work performed at customer sites around Gillette, Wyoming, and shop work conducted at our facility.
• Field technicians will travel directly to job sites, while shop technicians will work in a controlled shop environment.
• The role involves working in various weather conditions (field) and may require occasional overtime or on-call availability.
