Senior Tax Manager Location: Greater San Antonio, TX Metro Area Compensation: $145,000-$150,000 base + bonus potential Work Style: Fully Onsite Relocation: Reimbursement available A publicly traded, growth-focused company headquartered in the San Antonio metro area is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead their U.S. income tax function. This is a high-impact role for an experienced tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited by the opportunity to build, lead, and optimize tax operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740. Oversee federal and state income tax compliance efforts, including managing outsourced tax service providers. Ensure timely and accurate responses to tax-related inquiries, backed by well-documented technical research. Support income tax due diligence on M&A activity in collaboration with senior finance leadership. Monitor and interpret tax legislative changes, proactively advising leadership on potential impacts and opportunities. Lead or assist in IRS and state audit responses and document requests. Advise on cross-border tax implications and coordinate with global entities and third-party advisors. Drive continuous process improvement within the Tax Department. Mentor and develop junior tax team members (1-2 direct reports). Liaise with finance, legal, and business teams to ensure alignment across the organization. Ideal Candidate Profile: Progressive experience in tax, with a strong focus on U.S. income tax and ASC 740 provisions. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. CPA certification strongly preferred. Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, train, and develop team members. Comfortable working in a fully onsite, collaborative culture. Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally and across time zones. Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities. Demonstrates sound judgment, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset. Preferred Attributes: Exposure to international tax, transfer pricing, or tax planning. Experience working in a public company or complex organizational structure. Previous audit support or experience coordinating with external advisors.
