Senior Tax Manager
Location: Greater San Antonio, TX Metro Area
Compensation: $145,000-$150,000 base + bonus potential
Work Style: Fully Onsite
Relocation: Reimbursement available

A publicly traded, growth-focused company headquartered in the San Antonio metro area is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead their U.S. income tax function. This is a high-impact role for an experienced tax professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited by the opportunity to build, lead, and optimize tax operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740.

  • Oversee federal and state income tax compliance efforts, including managing outsourced tax service providers.

  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to tax-related inquiries, backed by well-documented technical research.

  • Support income tax due diligence on M&A activity in collaboration with senior finance leadership.

  • Monitor and interpret tax legislative changes, proactively advising leadership on potential impacts and opportunities.

  • Lead or assist in IRS and state audit responses and document requests.

  • Advise on cross-border tax implications and coordinate with global entities and third-party advisors.

  • Drive continuous process improvement within the Tax Department.

  • Mentor and develop junior tax team members (1-2 direct reports).

  • Liaise with finance, legal, and business teams to ensure alignment across the organization.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Progressive experience in tax, with a strong focus on U.S. income tax and ASC 740 provisions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

  • CPA certification strongly preferred.

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage, train, and develop team members.

  • Comfortable working in a fully onsite, collaborative culture.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally and across time zones.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.

  • Demonstrates sound judgment, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Attributes:
  • Exposure to international tax, transfer pricing, or tax planning.

  • Experience working in a public company or complex organizational structure.

  • Previous audit support or experience coordinating with external advisors.
