POSITION SUMMARY:

Plant maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance and lubrication of all machines. Takes measurements and checks proper current specifications (AMP/Meg) and lubricates all the machinery while noting and writing up work orders in the computer for any findings. Enroll in the Electro-mechanical apprenticeship program while working full time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Work without direct supervision. Must also be able to perform as a team member in order to respond to other employees and supervisor's requests and work effectively in a team environment.

2. Perform Preventative Maintenance and lubrication of all equipment in the facility as needed. If problems are located put in work orders in a timely manner.

3. Help out maintenance and all other personal as a team member would.

4. Handle cleaning supplies and equipment, complete cleaning tasks and follow safety regulations.

5. Use Lean principles, Quick Change Technology, Total Productive Maintenance, Cell Design, and 5S as a tool to help our plant run more efficiently.

6. Employee must perform his/her job within acceptable safety, environmental, quality, productivity and performance standards as outlined in plant policies, handbooks and applicable work instructions.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ensure that the proper documentation is completed and filed properly for all PM.

2. Work with Maintenance Leader to modify and define the PM task list to better maintain the equipment.

3. Be an active member of the spill response team.

4. Go through the CPR and first aid training to become a first responder.

5. Snow removal and Ice Melt application for sidewalks, parking lots, docks and emergency exits.

6. Maintain 5S of assigned area.

CRITICAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School diploma or GED must mechanical skills, and sufficient ability to read and write and communicate accurately..
  • LP Gas certification
  • Certified Boom operator
  • Basic computer skills
  • Certified crane and forklift operator
  • Knowledge and application of safety regulations
  • Able to follow directions
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Awareness of employees and activity in work area in all directions
  • Self-directed with skills to complete required checks accurately along with filing of required documentation
  • Must have a positive attitude and be able to work with others or independently as needed.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • Varying temperatures (cold to hot)
  • Frequent skin exposure to chemical - based fluids such as coolant, drawing compounds, lubricating oils, etc.
  • Wet slippery floors in some areas
  • Weld exhaust fumes at welding stations
  • Small, cramped work space at some machines
  • Fast - paced work environment
  • This job is performed in all areas of building facility including offices, out side, and production plant floor on all equipment and machines
  • Work with hazardous materials
  • Ability to travel occasionally, some overnight may be required
  • Must be able to work inside as well as outside the facility as needed


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Ability to communicate in an effective manner
  • Extensive standing, walking, climbing, stooping, bending over, reaching, twisting, arm wrist, and hand motion
  • Manual dexterity
  • Good visual ability
  • Frequent skin exposure to chemical - based fluids such as coolant, drawing compounds, lubricating oils, etc.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel occasionally


EQUIPMENT/TOOLS TO USE:



  • Floor scrubber, Brooms Mops, Brushes, Buckets, Motorized Sweeper / Floor cleaner Etc.
  • Areal Lifts, forlifts
  • Hand tools, voltage meters
