American Structurepoint's Road Group is seeking candidates to join us for our summer internship program in Evansville, IN! As a Road Intern, you'll work as part of a close-knit team on roadway projects for INDOT, cities, towns, and counties throughout Indiana. Most of your work will take place in the office, with occasional site visits, as you assist with quantity takeoffs, create construction plan sets using MicroStation OpenRoads Designer (ORD), prepare design documentation, and develop construction cost estimates. From large interstate and interchange projects to urban reconstructions, rural maintenance, and roundabouts, you'll gain hands-on experience across a wide variety of impactful transportation projects.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Contribute to roadway design by working on design calculations, roadway layouts, drainage analysis, plan production, and quantity and cost estimates

  • Gain hands-on experience with 3D modeling and work with tools like MicroStation/GEOPAK, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Get involved in a wide variety of projects-everything from roundabouts and urban streets to rural roads, drainage improvements, and large interstate projects

  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Who you are:

  • Current student majoring in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Transportation, Hydraulics, or a related program with a focus on Civil Engineering

  • Reliable transportation to and from the office

  • Strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, willingness to take on new challenges, and a collaborative mindset
