Overview

The Paseo location of PRESNow is seeking a Supervisor-Ultrasound.

Schedules, assigns and supervises the work of the Ultrasound staff in the Radiology Department. Acts as a resource person to other Ultrasound Technologists, Radiology staff and medical staff. Resource for regional Ultrasound facilities

Qualifications

Two years radiology specific college coursework, associate degree or diploma required. RDMS Certification Required with a minimum of two modalities. Current BLS required. Five years of Ultrasound experience required

Credentials:

  • Reg Diagnostic Med Sonographer
  • Current BLS required.


Responsibilities

  • Participates with Interviewing and hiring of Ultrasound staff for the Radiology Department. Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and initiates/makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Adheres to JCAHO, FDA and ACR guidelines.
  • Monitors and orders supplies as needed and follows financial guidelines for maintaining optimal budgetary compliance. Prepares budgets for CNM Ultrasound and monitors.
  • Oversees daily activities of the staff to optimize productivity and census manages when appropriate. Performs duties of the Ultrasound technologist.
  • Attends meetings as required, takes minutes as required and participates on committees as needed and/or directed.
  • Functions as liaison between physicians and technologists and area support staff. Establishes and maintains communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
  • Educates personnel on proper use of machinery and equipment within the Department. Oversees new testing procedures.
  • Develops and implements scanning policies and procedures for the department as needed.
  • Ensures the delivery of quality services in the Department. Acts as an educational resource and is available for consultation to medical, nursing and administrative staff.
