Clinical & Education Coordinator- Anesthesia

* Administers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to render persons insensible to pain during surgical procedures, obstetrical deliveries, or other medical and dental procedures. * Potentially administers anesthesia to all ages and A.S.A. classes of patients, including geriatrics and pediatrics. * Provides airway management services as needed throughout the hospital. * Facilitates the coordination, scheduling and activities of the assigned CRNAs. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure to practice in Michigan as a Registered Nurse. * Graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. * Minimum of 3 years of clinical anesthesia experience. * Supervisory experience preferred. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURES: * Certification to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist and maintenance of certification as required by guidelines established by the Council on Recertification and by the State of Michigan. * Maintains currency of: 1) Clinical Privileges 2) RN License 3) State Specialty Certification 4) Current/Active Certification to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist and maintenance of certification as required by guidelines established by the Council on Recertification and by the State of Michigan 5) ACLS Certification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Driving may be required, dependent on specialty. * Frequent walking, bending, lifting may be required to perform duties. WORKING CONDITIONS: * Work is generally in an operating room environment, but can be in Radiology, ICU, ER, or wherever nurse anesthesia services are required in the hospital. * Working conditions are variable with exposure to communicable diseases and other hazards.
