Receives, inventories, stocks, issues, handles, cleans and distributes all supplies/equipment used throughout West Virginia University Hospitals and Physician Office Center which are the responsibility of Materials Handling.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. 1. In accordance with departmental policy and procedure, respond to all requests for centralized equipment, supplies and accessories.

2. Performs the above-described position using the Department/System ERP platform. This includes Picking, Delivering, Issuing, Receiving, Inventorying and Stocking using Department/System ERP platform to perform appropriate transactions on the desktop and/or on handheld terminals (Zebra Handheld Computers). Detail and accuracy with these transactions is required and essential to inventory management.

3. Processes returns from customers to House Inventories and re-stocks to correct bin while checking for and disposing of outdated, damaged and/or obsolete material. This function is also essential to maintain inventory management.

4. Maintains high quality departmental customer service, both over the phone and in person, using excellent communication skills and exhibits a courteous and professional customer service-oriented attitude at all times.

5. Reports urgent or emergency equipment/supply shortages to direct Supervisor/Manager.

6. Inspects for bio-burden, cleans, disinfects/wipes and prepares for re-distribution of all centralized pumps and equipment/equipment accessories as part of Materials Management Equipment Handling assignment area.

7. Monitors real time locator system (Aero-scout) to assist in timely retrieval and support patient needs for centralized pumps and equipment.

8. Coordinates with nursing and other hospital staff to locate centralized equipment when the house inventory has been depleted/not readily available.

9. Inspects Code Carts (aka: E-carts, Emergency carts, Crash carts) to ensure that each cart and all accessories are functional and in good order. Maintains accurate inventory stock in Code Carts in accordance with the code drawer inventory lists to support the Hospital's Code Cart Exchange Program per Hospital Code Team Policy (Policy IV.053).

10. Maintains accurate inventory stock in Code Stretcher Luggage/Bags, and EZIO Kits in precise accordance with the applicable inventory lists per Hospital Code Team Policy (Policy IV.053).

11. Installs disposable supplies and accessories and performs regular inspection/testing of applicable equipment as required to meet the hospital needs.

12. Reports and records missing and/or damaged equipment and accessories.

13. Serves as initial contact for all centralized equipment inquiries from customers.

14. Maintains work areas in a clean, neat and orderly fashion on a daily basis.

15. Cleans work area prior to end of shift in preparation for the oncoming shift.

16. Function as the resource person for training new Equipment Handling Attendants.

17. Assist in the orientation and training of new employees.

1. Must be capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and pushing loaded carts weighing in excess of 600 pounds.

2. Manual dexterity and physical ability to stand, walk and handle equipment/materials for prolonged periods of time.

3. Must possess visual and oral acuity.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to read, write and understand English

2. Math skills necessary to count, inventory and convert each/box/case quantities.

3. Must possess excellent communication skills (both phone and personal).

4. Must understand and practice excellent personal hygiene.

5. An excellent customer service attitude is essential.
