Annual Salary: $460,000.00

DUTIES:

Diagnose and treat patients with a wide spectrum of pulmonary disorders, including lung cancer, asthma, pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tuberculosis and

other complicated chest diseases. Evaluate pulmonary function testing, consult with patients and physicians to determine the extent of illness, or help diagnose the condition. In our

Hospital's Intensive Care Unit, provide comprehensive care for critically ill high acuity patients, including those with conditions such as acute respiratory failure, sepsis, shock, cardiac arrest

and multiorgan failure. Provide consultations requested by the ER and hospitalist team for patients with life-threatening conditions. Collaborate with other specialties including surgical and cardiology to coordinate care for patients with complex postoperative needs and after myocardial infarction. Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds to discuss patient condition and determine care plans with nurses, social workers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, and other involved professionals. Perform procedures like central venous and arterial catheter insertion, hemodialysis catheter placement, thoracentesis, bronchoscopy, biopsies of the lung using bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound. Provide education and training for medical students and family medicine residents on ICU rotations. Provide inpatient pulmonary consultations for patients admitted in the hospital for pulmonary diseases.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • An M.D. (Medical Doctor) or D.O. (Doctor of Osteopathy) degree, or the foreign equivalent.
  • Completion of an ACGME- or COCA-accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Medicine
  • Completion of a US fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care
  • Washington State Physician and Surgeon License or a Washington State Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon License, or eligibility for licensure.
  • DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) Registration in Washington State

All education, training, and experience may be gained concurrently. Applicants subject to pre-employment background check. Applicants must be U.S. workers (includes U.S. citizens, permanent residents, foreign nationals granted temporary residence under one of the 1986 legalization programs, refugees, and asylees).
