Job Description:

This position is located at New Ulm Medical Center Clinic; it also supports satellite clinic locations in Springfield, Lamberton and Winthrop, MN.

In this position you will direct and administer the operations of the clinic, provide staff support to the physicians' group and facilitate communication between physicians, medical center administration, departments, and employees. You will drive clinic service delivery and develop and implement innovative strategies to meet key goals and create high value.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Clinic operations and oversight
    • Provides leadership to physician leaders and others related to clinic operations, including special focus on safety, quality, experience, access, efficiency, and engagement.
    • Manages all clinic physicians, non-physician providers, nurse leaders, support and business staff and manages the staffing model and ensures regulatory compliance.
    • Recruits providers for both clinic and hospital and develops contractual agreements with non-employed and non-physicians group specialty physicians.
    • Supports orientation and onboarding of new employees and assures appropriate assignment and timely completion of annual and continuing education.
    • Determines staffing needs using productivity and minimum staffing requirements and works to recruit and sustain qualified candidates.
    • Articulates clearly to staff performance expectations, coaches to enhance performance, and provides timely and effective performance reviews.
    • Leads the design of compensation plans in partnership with applicable stakeholders.
    • Encourages professional development of staff and provides opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Financial management
    • Provides financial oversight of the total clinic operations in concert with the finance director.
    • Understands and develops realistic annual operating and capital budget.
    • Provides consultation to managers on operations of the department to meet financial goals.
    • Understands financial reports and responds to the variances and variations that affect financial goals.
    • Participates in the development of a long-range plan for capital expenditures based on business plan, facility needs, and safety of patients and staff.
  • Project management
    • Acts as a change agent, identifying when change is necessary, influencing others, and gaining support for crucial initiatives through provision of applicable data, critical thinking, and dialogue with key stakeholders.
    • Maintains a systematic process for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating actions when adding or deleting services.
    • Promotes, supports, and evaluates change for patients, employees, and the organization.
  • Safety and compliance
    • Assures priorities of safety, quality, access, value and experience for our patients.
    • Supports safety initiatives and ensures utilization of the reporting process for any safety concerns or suggestions.
    • Actively participates in prevention of accidents and injuries for patients, staff, and visitors.
    • Completes annual facility wide compliance training and ensures regulatory readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Health Care Administration or equivalent
  • 5+ years of progressive health care leadership experience
  • Clinic operations and physician practice management experience

Pay Range

Pay Range: $55.24 to $76.43 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
