  • Full-time Senior Fleet Service Technician at Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance

What You'll Do:

The Senior Fleet Service Technician oversees fleet services and the fleet shop. This role performs maintenance and repair of ambulances and support vehicles to minor to major repairs. The lead coordinates and leads the fleet services shop and provides guidance and support to the Fleet Technician. The lead also works with operations to coordinate facility maintenance and repairs.

1. Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of and adherence to the Emplify Health-Tri-State Ambulance' rules, policies and procedures including but not limited to the rules, policies and procedures contained in the Tri-State Ambulance Handbook and Standard Operating Guidelines.

2. Perform routine repairs on vehicles as needed. Document all repairs in tracking system.

3.Perform minor to major repairs as well as preventive maintenance on emergency response and support vehicles including oil changes and safety checks according to preventive maintenance schedule.

4.Occasionally answer after-hours emergency calls to repair faulty apparatus, vehicles, and equipment, and respond to location of apparatus or facility if needed.

5.Assist with diagnosis and repair of the EMS fleet including ambulances and support vehicles utilizing knowledge and expertise of automotive systems including brakes ABS, gas engines, advanced electrical and onboard computers, fuel delivery, transmissions, air systems, exhaust, axles and suspensions.

6.May perform welding and fabrication of steel and aluminum for body repairs and apparatus refurbishment.

7. Perform part ordering and procurement as well as maintain appropriate inventory of essential parts.

8.Maintain detailed records on all vehicles in an automated system to include all maintenance and repair records, cost of service, hours of service, parts used, accident reports, and all required checklists.

9. Assist with oversight of facilities owned or leased by the ambulance services to include scheduling outside vendors and contractors to perform maintenance or repairs.

10.Drive vehicles to diagnose, test after repair, and deliver and pick up from third party vendors and various system locations.

11.Train Paramedics and EMTs in minor equipment repair, fluid adjustment, and vehicle maintenance, to be performed at EMS locations

12. Perform all duties in a safe manner using all required safety devices and equipment.

13. Monitor and maintain a clean and safe shop and work area.

14. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs in the field as needed

15. Develop and maintain positive, effective working relationships with employees, volunteers, vendors, residents, other governmental entities and the community.

16. Ensure the work environment follows Organizational safety and environmental standards.

17. Maintain any required certifications and keep current regarding emerging technologies related to this position.

18. Keeps current on applicable industry standards.

19. Regularly participate in ongoing continuing education to stay current with manufacturers' standards and trainings.

20. Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

What You'll Need:

  • High school diploma or general education degree

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in automotive industry

  • Valid Driver's License
