The Registered Nurse manages all aspects of the nursing process and the delivery of patient and family centered care. The Registered Nurse has the responsibility and authority to request and use governing and administrative resources, technological and support systems, and multidisciplinary clinical experts necessary to manage and deliver quality, cost effective patient care.
The Cardiac Rehab RN coordinates and implements all components of Cardiac Rehabilitation patient care and education, utilizing the nursing process and behavior change principles along with an interdisciplinary team approach.

Education

  • Required: A graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is required.
  • Critical care education required. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of cardiac rehabilitation and behavior modification strategies. Able to read and write English.
  • Preferred: Commitment to concept of wellness and cardiovascular health preferred.

Licenses and Credentials
  • Required: Position requires a Valid/Current license to practice as a RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. BLS certification required and biannual renewal will be provided. ACLS certification required and must be renewed every two years.
  • Preferred:ANCC Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification preferred
Experience
  • Required: Minimum: Two years of medical/surgical nursing experience, two years of recent cardiac intensive nursing care experience required ( Other intensive nursing experience considered) and cardiac risk factor intervention and in exercise prescription and intervention.
  • Preferred:Member of Massachusetts Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Perform this job successfully within the scope of nursing, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and be able to demonstrate any knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned department Certifications in CPR, or PALS, ACLS, and BLS may be required upon hire for specific patient care units.
  • Those who are transitioning into a new area who do not possess skill will be trained.
