Position Summary: Senior Accountant develops, interprets, and implements complex financial and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and control. Supports the general ledger closing cycle, fixed asset management, inventory control management, financial statement reporting, and projects requiring financial expertise.
What you will do:
Interprets and applies corporate financial policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Ensure a high level of integrity is maintained within the general ledger and financial statements. Participates in month-end, quarter-end and year-end general ledger closing cycle and financial statement preparation and account reconciliations. Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries. Completes monthly division and consolidated financial statements with related charts and graphs. Evaluate alternatives and recommends process improvement solutions based on business needs and financial analyses. Collects appropriate data and prepares compliance returns. Prepares and organizes data for audit. Recommends proper handling of financial transactions. Reviews, investigates, documents, and assists in the implementation of accounting systems and internal control procedures. Analyzes financial and nonfinancial information to identify trends or concerns, providing recommendations to leadership to improve present and future financial performance. Supports the budget process including training, system preparation, template preparation, analysis and financial statements. Develop and conduct training on financial systems and processes to business users. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Senior Leadership.
When you will work:
Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hybrid Work Schedule: 4 days in office, 1 day from home.
What you'll bring to the table:
Minimum of four to six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Master's degree in Business Administration preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) preferred Must have knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost accounting and analysis, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and internal control analysis and implementation. Must know advanced principles of analysis, reporting, and information valuation, must understand process improvement strategies, and be technologically adaptable. Experience manipulating large amounts of data. Works in a way that supports the GFS Cornerstone Values. Advanced proficiency with excel (pivots, macro's, lookup's) Able to investigate and problem solve. High attention to detail and integrity of data. Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; detects problems or opportunities; gathers and organizes all relevant information; identifies underlying issues or problems; recognizes trends; and identifies cause-effect relationships. Commits to action after developing alternative courses of action that are based on logical assumptions and factual information and that take into considerations resources, constraints, and organizational values: informs or collaborates with others as appropriate. May act in a support role of team management. May review other team member's work.
